Agreed Before Work Begins
The consultancy or support fee is agreed in writing before work begins, with no commission on equipment. We confirm the objective, services included, location and timescale up front.
Equipment, delivery, travel and installation are separate costs and remain subject to the seller's or supplier's terms.
Buying Used Equipment
Used equipment carries more uncertainty than new. No inspection or short test can guarantee it will never develop a fault, and private sales may offer fewer consumer protections. We will tell you about any material concerns we identify.

We cannot guarantee a specific saving because prices, availability and requirements vary. Our objective is to prevent unnecessary spending and help you obtain the strongest possible result from your budget.
Can you inspect equipment before I buy it?
This depends on location, access, seller cooperation and the agreed project scope. Where physical inspection is not practical, we review photographs, videos, specifications and seller responses.
Can you help with delivery?
Yes. We can assist with collection and delivery planning, and where agreed we may coordinate transport.
Can you upgrade my existing simulator?
Yes. We can audit your current equipment, identify the most useful improvements and create a staged upgrade plan.
Can you assess an eBay or used-market simulator listing?
Yes. Send the listing link, your budget and how you intend to use it. We review the specification, compatibility, missing parts and likely extra costs, and identify questions or demonstrations to request from the seller. A listing review cannot confirm hidden faults or replace physical testing.
Can you relocate my simulator?
We can plan disassembly, access, transport, reassembly and recalibration for a house move or a change of room. Collection, travel and hands-on work depend on location and the agreed scope.
What can you help with remotely?
Remote support can cover simulator settings, software setup, drivers, calibration, display configuration and troubleshooting. Any screen-sharing access is agreed with you first. Hardware faults, electrical work and tasks needing physical inspection may require an on-site visit or manufacturer support.

We search used markets, industry contacts, specialist groups, trade networks and private sellers — comparing each opportunity against the agreed requirements, not just its asking price. A photograph of a simulator switched on does not demonstrate that every component works, so where appropriate we also request cold-start video, calibration footage, pedal traces, force feedback tests, mounting and connector photographs, PC system and storage health information, and confirmation of firmware versions and licences.

07Collection and Delivery Planning
Saving money on a used purchase has little benefit if the equipment is damaged during collection. We plan vehicle size, loading access, stairs, door and lift dimensions, disassembly, monitor protection, packaging, insurance and reassembly.
08Inspection and Testing

Equipment Compatibility Guide
We treat the simulator as one connected system: driver, software, chassis, wheelbase, pedals, PC, displays or VR, room, power and network, transport, maintenance and future upgrades.
PC specification. A PC suited to a single 1080p display may be unsuitable for triple screens or VR, while older titles may not need a flagship graphics card. We specify around the real workload: titles, resolution, frame rate, telemetry, motion software and SimHub.
Software and titles. iRacing, Assetto Corsa and ACC, Automobilista 2, rFactor 2, Le Mans Ultimate, RaceRoom, EA Sports WRC, BeamNG.drive and specialist training software each have different hardware and licence needs. We do not recommend unlicensed software, and consumer licences may not cover commercial use.

The Console Compatibility Mistake
A PlayStation user finds a wheelbase and wheel package designed primarily for PC. We identify the platform requirements and recommend a compatible alternative.
The Triple-Screen Upgrade
Before buying triple 32in panels we assess room, stand width, VESA, resolution, refresh rate, GPU outputs, cables, viewing distance and driver access.
The Used Gaming PC

Sometimes we may have suitable equipment available, but the main purpose of this service is independent sourcing and project management. Where equipment is being sold directly by Forrest Motorsport, this will be made clear.
Can you find a complete simulator?
Yes. We can search for complete systems or create a simulator from individually sourced components.
Is it better to buy a complete rig or separate components?
It depends on condition, specification, compatibility and price. A complete package can offer good value, but it can also include components that are unsuitable or hard to resell. Building from separate components gives more control but may take longer.
Do you only work with expensive simulators?
No. Professional advice can be particularly valuable on lower budgets because there is less room for mistakes.
Can you build and install the simulator?
Yes. Assembly, installation and configuration can be included in the project scope.
Can you help a commercial simulator business?
